Crown International is an IBM Certified Solutions Expert in Speech Recognition using the IBM ViaVoice. We were trained by IBM in speech recognition beginning with the original IBM VoiceType Dictation version 1.0. and carrying on through to the latest version, ViaVoice for Windows release 10.0 Rev B, Pro Edition.

We were contracted by IBM to develop and instruct the most recent course used for training IBM's speech recognition dealers. This course, VT001 was the prerequisite for dealers wishing to undergo the certification examination. In fact, James Cox, President of Crown International was one of 2 representatives from United States on the world wide committee that developed the certification examination for IBM.

Crown International was the host for the year 2000 National Speech Resellers Conference and Training that was held March 31st in Chicago.  We also hosted this conference in 2002 and 2003  in Boca Raton.  James P. Cox, President of Crown International was the Chairman of these conferences.

Now what can we do for you?

Before you undertake to integrate speech recognition into your Business or Agency, you first need to understand what exactly speech recognition can and cannot do. You need to know if this technology will be able to work on your existing computer hardware  or, if new computers need to be purchased, exactly what the technical specification should be. It may be necessary to test your existing computer hardware  before this determination can be made. While ViaVoice technology can work with many if not most Windows applications, it may be necessary to test some of your software to be sure.

For a small office, this process may be a simple as a phone call. For larger organizations these initial consultation may have to be done on site, particularly if testing is required. Pilot projects including training of users can be proposed and implemented where needed. Crown International has implemented many of these pilot projects for large corporations in and around the Midwest and, while under contract to IBM Global Services, in other locations around the United States.

We offer any business or professional user a Low Cost initial telephone consultation. This 10 to 15 minute conversation should assist you in determining the feasibility of your project. For simple projects, this may provide all the information that we need to answer your questions and offer you an opinion and/or proposal for the project. For larger proposed projects, this call will help us both gain an understanding of how complex the consultation process should be to meet your needs.

While we can no longer afford to provide this service for free, we will only charge for the time actually spent working on your project. We will not start the clock until after we have received your basic information and credit card numbers. Our basic telephone consulting fee is based on $200.00/hr.  We may allow a part of this consulting fee to be applied towards the cost of products and services purchased from Crown International if done within 30 days.
