ViaVoice and the Business Environment -  How You Can Save Time and Money with Speech Recognition

The Busy Executive

Executives of large American corporations, plus officials of many County, State, and Federal Government Agencies, are using ViaVoice to improve their efficiency. The clock is seldom the friend of these busy people. Many of them are at work long before their staff arrives and many times are still at it long after everyone else has gone home. With their computer and ViaVoice, the work can be accomplished at any time as easily as if they just dictated it for someone else.

The CEO of one of America's largest companies has used ViaVoice to help write speeches to be given at corporate meetings and conventions.

Another CEO uses it to produce many day-to-day memos and other correspondence.

Crown has even trained the administrator of one of the larger county governments in United States to work with ViaVoice in a few hours. He dictates into his computer and then saves his work across the network (as a save session) on his secretaries computer. Then when her schedule permits, she corrects his work and prints the final document. This again is made possible by the delegated correction feature of ViaVoice.

Besides the savings in time, if your company uses transcriptionists, the cost saving is obvious. With more work being done at a greater pace by the executives themselves, transcription services and their associated costs can be reduced significantly. By eliminating or reducing intervening steps, the speed at which executives can communicate with each other and with the company is increased; this can add to the competitive edge every company seeks to gain.

Salesmen and other Staff Members

Busy sales executives can use it to produce large volumes of sales letters in an amazingly short period of time. All of Crown's sales staff use ViaVoice to personally dictate all sales contact letters and correspondence on a regular basis, saving many hours in time other wise spent typing and making corrections manually in a word processor. Some of our staff have created using only their voice as many as 150 letters in less than two hours using ViaVoice!

The secret to such high volume is that much of the body of the letter consists of macros (standard text that has already been recorded). ViaVoice even has a special kind of macro with multiple fields called a template. Since most sales letters and contact correspondence is virtually the same in format and wording, using voice enabled templates combined with macros allows a busy sales person to generate a lot of correspondence in a sort period of time.

One characteristic of ViaVoice that busy users such as sales people love is that the more repetitive, that is to say predictable, the work is, the more accurate and faster ViaVoice becomes. For example, when I'm dictating a large number of similar letters, after the first few, ViaVoice almost seems to anticipate what I'm going to say next.

Secretaries and other staff members

who find a lot of their work centered on word processing and document creation will also benefit from the speed and accuracy of ViaVoice, saving time and effort which will allow them to be more productive.

The business benefits are obvious. Call Crown today to discuss how ViaVoice and speech recognition can help your business save time and money while becoming more competitive!
