  This “newest generation” product line release from ViaVoice contains an accumulation of IBM’s 30 plus years history in speech recognition research and development. The ViaVoice for Windows, Release 10 family of products deliver support for Microsoft Office XP. Additionally, it includes large font support for enrollment (the function of teaching ViaVoice the sound of your voice) to make getting started even easier than previous products, as well as Key Control to ensure your voice commands are not understood as dictation. This family of products includes numerous enhancements to the acclaimed IBM speech recognition “engine” with all of its recognition capabilities. This, coupled with the easy-to-use ViaVoice Correction facility, results in a highly productive speech dictation product. As in the ViaVoice Release 9 family of products, there continues to be the ViaVoice seamless integration of function with Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Word 2002, Word 2000, and Word 97 . Along with this seamless integration of dictation is the powerful, intuitive control of these applications using ViaVoice Natural Language Commands. The Pro USB Edition users receive a USB headset microphone  for enhanced quality. The Pro USB Edition continues to include the function called “ViaVoice Marks,” which provides state-of-the-art speech interaction between the user and computer, as well as Voice Document templates for quick dictation of names, addresses, and text.

• CPU: 1 gHZ or faster Intel Pentium  4 or AMD Athalon all with 256K of Level 2 cache.   (Faster processors will work quicker.)
• RAM: 512 MB or more of random-access memory. (More RAM is better for best performance.)
• HD Space: 510 MB available hard drive space. 
• CD-ROM: 4 X or faster CD-ROM required for installation of program. 
• Display: Set to run in 256 colors or higher.

• IBM has a Legal and a Medical Vocabulary available for ViaVoice. They each contain approximately 25,000 words. These are priced at $149.95 each and are in stock (on a close out basis). Call 800-715-4227 for more information and details about our other available  vocabularies for use with ViaVoice.

NOTE: These vocabularies are used in place of the 200,000 word general use vocabulary that ships with ViaVoice for Windows release 10. Any or all of these IBM vocabularies can be in the computer at the same time, but on one of them can be active at a time. This means that if you have the Medical Vocabulary active, the general Vocabulary will not be active.

A  Better Alternative is to use ViaVoice for Windows with one or more of the Voice Automated Medical Specialty, Legal or Law Enforcement Vocabularies  active. This means that you have the general words plus the words in the topic all active at the same time. This is our normal recommendation for most professional users.
